MAYE has demonstrated its capacity by successfully participating in a three years European union funded project ‘Green village’ as a third world organization partnering with 9 other European organizations from different states. In collaboration with Grampus Heritage, an international organization registered in UK, MAYE initiated a project – GREEN VILLAGE that lasted for three years from 2011 to 2013.
The objective of this project was exploring sustainable aspect on village life in Europe and Kenya. During the first and second year of the project we did a research and compiled a report on the six actions of the project which included rural food, rural energy, Sustainable building, Sustainable ancestors, Wood products and Empowering communities. Our report was highly recommended by both Grampus Heritage and the European commission. The third year was more of exchange visits and evaluation of the project.
